WeareseekingaResearchAssociatetojointheEnergyProgramoftheSustainableTransitionCenter.Thisrolesupportsresearch,policydevelopment,andstakeholderengagement,helpingtodrivesustainablepracticesintheindustrialsector.Theidealcandidatewillconductenergyuseanalysis,assessemergingtechnologies,andcontributetopoliciesthatsupportlow-carbondevelopment,collaboratingwithgovernment,industry,andNGOs.
JobResponsibilities
1.Research&Strategicleadership(35%)
Monitordomesticandinternationalpoliciesandtrendsrelatedtolow-carbonindustrialtransformation,andproduceanalysesinformatssuchaspolicybriefs,blogposts,andpublications.
Conductprimaryresearchandcontributetothedevelopmentofknowledgeproducts(e.g.,reports,briefs,dataproducts).
Reviewandeditreports,blogs,pressreleases,andotherresearchoutputstoensuretheymeetorganizationalstandardsforqualityandimpact.
RegularlyupdateandreportontheprogressoftheIndustryTransitionProjectwithintheorganizationandtoexternalpartners.
Contributefundingproposalsandprojectprogressreports.
Developawell-structuredandcompellingstrategyforChina’scontributiontotheglobalindustrialtransition,groundedinstrongresearchfoundation,clearpriorities,andcoherentvision.
Identify,developandimplementprojectsthatalignwiththeabovestrategytoachievelarge-scaleandhigh-impactoutcomes.
Buildcoalitionsandconvenesuccessfulpartnershipstoadvanceourclimatechangeandenergyworkthroughpolicyresearchandengagement.
FosteracultureofcollaborationandexcellencewithintheteamandacrossWRIChina.
PromotecloseandeffectivecollaborationswithrelevantprogramsandcentersatotherInternationalOffices.
2.EngagementandOutreach(25%)

3.Fundraising(20%)
Leadthedevelopmentandimplementationofthefundraisingstrategy.

ContributetoWRI’sglobalenergystrategy.
Performothertasksasdirectedbythemanagementteam.
QualificationsandRequirements
Master’sdegreeinindustrialengineering,environmentalengineering,materialsscience,energypolicy,orrelatedfields;PhDpreferred.
Minimumofeightyearsofexperienceinindustrialtransformation,policyresearch,orcleantechnology.
Strongresearch,analytical,andwritingskills,withatrackrecordofpublishedworkpreferred.
Abilitytoworkeffectivelyinateam,handlemultiplepriorities,andworkindependently.
Excellentinterpersonalskillsandtheabilitytoworkinamulticulturalenvironmentwithhighprofessionalintegrity.
